The Miracle of Obama
News reports are stating that President Obama’s trip to the gathering of the G8 conference in Italy is almost a total loss. It seems that the other nations are unwilling to impose sanctions against Iran or Korea for their continuing development of nuclear power, among other things.
If the greatest of nations cannot come together under common cause, such as escape from nuclear annihilation, then how can we expect them to handle other pressing problems? Global warming seemed to have been lowered on the list of importance. China sure made that an impossible task to handle. After all, why should they strive for a cleaner environment when their living environment has been so far behind that of the other industrialized nations?
Mr. Obama came into his presidency on the promises of an almost miraculous recovery of every ill known to society. He was to fix everything, every problem, whether it be economic, terroristic, governmental, societal and, dare I say, personal? If he is the second coming of the spirit of the greatest presidents in American history, then he has truly fallen short of the mark. Yes, I know it has not been long since he was inaugurated, but he promised more so I expect more.
Always falling back on his health care program, there has been little evidence of his plans truly helping those with the most need. His words sound good and logical. He could probably sell a freezer to an Eskimo. The end result will always be a disgruntled customer…or citizen. The question that lingers today is, “why would the hospitals give up billions of dollars in future Medicare and Medicaid payments?” Perhaps because these programs won’t be around anymore, thus, it is easy to give up what they won’t have anyway.
Whatever happened to the miracle of Obama? Was it just another sham to add to the list of America’s greatest shams? Or was it just a mistake to begin with?
